Bespoke Fixture Specialists
Trac have many years experience and expertise in the supply of bespoke fixturing solutions for any measurement task. We fully understand the importance of offering the component in the optimum position to enable the maximum measurement features to be accessed in one single operation. To achieve this, Trac have developed several methods of locating and holding a wide range of components, during the measurement process. The main criteria requirement is not to deform or damage the components and ensure the measurements are accurate and repeatable.

Medical Industry

We have developed with our customers good practice techniques, especially with the complexity of small plastic components, that benefits both parties.
Clamping Methods
Trac Measurement Systems use several methods to secure the component being measured. The most successful methods minimise the operator influence, we have found light springs form a consistent clamping system. Once we have established the optimum spring pressure, this can be applied across a multi-station fixture. Another of our favoured methods is Vacuum, this has proven very successful and has formed the basis for several of our most prestigious installations.
Spring Assembly
This clamp unit is very popular with relatively small components. The clamp can be lifted and rotated clear of the component for ease of loading and then returned to the same position.
Aerofoil Fixturing
We have developed a modular fixturing system for repeatable holding of small aerofoils. The system is very flexible and allows the user to adjust the stainless steel jaws position to suit the fir tree root. The end stop is adjustable in three directions and can be positioned on either side of the fixture main body. The clamping method can either be spring or thumbscrew. The spring pressure is ideal for small blades, up to 75mm high, any larger components are better suited to the thumbscrew option. The system comes complete with a case and Operator User Guide.
Vision Measuring Fixtures
We can also supply fixturing for use on Vision Machines, these have clear polycarbonate baseplates for use with up-lighting. The fixturing principles are then similar to most CMM fixture applications.
Automotive Fixturing
We can provide work-holding and attribute gauging for a wide variety of applications. This can vary from sub-assembly fixtures, where weight restraint plays a critical part of the design criteria, whilst being robust and fit for purpose, in a busy production environment.
